Diagnostics of faults

According to the appearance of the spark plugs dismantled from the engine after operation in the self-cleaning zone, it is possible to easily determine the conditions in which the active parts operated.

BRISK TIP

The BRISK spark plugs do not require any check or maintenance for the duration of their lifetime. If they are selected according to the BRISK documentation, and properly mounted, it is possible to fully rely on their function.

MELTED INSULATOR NOSE

CORRECT FUNCTION OF THE SPARK PLUG
INCORRECT FUNCTION OF THE SPARK PLUG

According to the appearance it is possible to assess under which conditions the spark plugs worked in the engine. If the insulator noses of spark plugs are melted or the electrodes are strongly singed, they worked at a very high temperature. It can be caused by improper heat range – the spark plug for the given engine is too warm, use of too big tightening torque, when installing the spark plug or technical defect of the engine.

SOFT DEPOSITS

CORRECT FUNCTION OF THE SPARK PLUG
INCORRECT FUNCTION OF THE SPARK PLUG

If deposits on the insulator noses are black, the spark plugs worked at the self-cleaning temperature too long. It can be caused by incorrect selection of heat range of the spark plug – too cold for the given engine, technical defect of the engine, improper spark gap or improper fuel.
